Totem pole

So I broke down on Saturday night.  I was overwhelmed with school work and beating myself up for procrastinating soooo long.  I don't even say things like, "Uh, that sucked, I'll ever put things off again..." Because I know it's complete and total bullshit....no need to pretend otherwise.

In the middle of my rant, torn between tears and a panic attack (which actually just came out overwhelmed and angry) Jen put her arms around me and said, but just think Babe...this time next week you'll be done... I kind of smiled when she put things into those terms.

Then she said something that caught me off guard.  The conversation went like this:

Jen: AND I'll move up a notch on your list...
Me. (Puzzled) What are you talking about?
Jen: You'll have more time in your day which mean that I'll move up on the list

It dawned on me: I had in the very beginning (and still every now and then, okay more than I'll admit to) had disclaimers for everything.  I needed her to know that while I was interested in dating her, I had a shit ton of stuff happening in my life...and that I had priorities (no offense to her, but I was down right blunt in my delivery)...I recall telling her that my family and school are always going to be a top priority of mine and that she would be included in that list but (for a lack of better words) not in as high a regard as the other two...

(I'm realizing how bitchy this sounds and wondering how the she even saw past my disclaimers to stick it out longer than a week with me)

The conversation continued:

Me: So where do you fall on the list now?
Jen: I'm 4th on your list
Me: How do you figure?
Jen: The order is: Family, School, Pepper, and then me
Me: You jackass, Pepper doesn't come before you...ya'll share a tier because I love her, but I'm not IN LOVE with her, seeing as she's a dog (no offense Pepper, ha)
Jen: Laughing.....so what are you saying?
Me: You're gonna be number two, ha

What I realized is that I never did elaborate and share with her when my priorities changed.  I also don't view my priorities in terms of a totem pole anymore either.  I don't look at things in terms of my family comes before Jen and vice versa...I do however feel that Jen is PART of my family (just in a west virginia) kind of way considering we have sex and stuff...(things I wouldnt do with typical family)...I feel like I've done pretty well to manage my life (though I do get stressed from time to time) and dedicate a great deal of time to her and lil man.

I help her with lil man most weekends so it will be one less thing she has to worry about and now on Thursday nights...I think of little ways to surprise her and always want to impress her...in the beginning I needed to make sure to lay everything out on the table...things that had been issues for exes needed to be known to prevent them from being issues in the present....I had had an ex that had a complete and total issue with me spending time doing homework and going to school because she wasn't getting ALL of my attention among other things.

I feel like I've done some growing over the past few months.  I can't live in the past and I can't assume that just because something was an issue with someone else that it will be an issue with Jen...Jen is her own person and I have to stop being a control freak from time to time (not all the time because I might die, lol) and give her the opportunity to just be her--my girlfriend.  If I have all these disclaimers in place, the this is how shit should be stuff, and well in the past this caused this....I'm only setting us up for failure.  Perhaps I'm tooting my own horn, but I feel like I've become a better girlfriend in general. (I'm not sure if Jen would say that or not, lol)...I acknowledge that I'm not the easiest person to deal with by any means, but I'm thankful for the growth opportunities I've had that have opened my eyes.  I'm telling you, I'm not martyr but fulltime school, fulltime work, and dealing with grandma fulltime is not an easy thing when it comes to balance....

I don't want the love of my life feeling like she is anything less than #1.... I may still spend a great deal of time with my family because thats just the person I am, but 9 times out of 10, Jen and lil man are right there with me....and I think Jen enjoys it because we all make her laugh and she has been welcomed into the family with open arms...

The moral of the story is that I love her and I want my actions, not just my words to show that.  This is my public apology for ever making her feel less than what she is...my number one.  She deserves better than that...so much better than that.

Sneaky surprises

I kept telling Jen that I wasn't able to stay on Thursday night, despite taking Friday off because Gma had concerns about taking care of Pepper all Thursday and Friday too... She got off of work Thursday night after I had been at her place helping her with lil man and had a few surprises...

I had rearranged her room to unblock the chi and to see her reaction honestly (she loved it, though it's not completely organized yet because I didn't want to dig through all her shit...she'll need to know where everything is.)

A few other things were up my sleeve as well....You see I had arranged for my mom to watch Pepper so that Gma would fret and piss my mom off by calling her with some made up story about Pepper getting into something she shouldn't or whatever...I took Pepper to mom's house on Wednesday night.  I packed my bag, put it in the trumk.  After work Thursday I headed to Jens, according to plan.  I did all my "good deeds" while she was at work and when she got home, she was expecting me to go--but I didn't.  I stayed at her place for the first time in MONTHS...I'd stay more but her roommate won't allow pets and I can't leave Pepper for that long.  I was so stealthy in my mind...I even blogged prior to talking about how I'd be unable to stay.

It was a nice surprise I'd say and I always sleep so good in her bed next to her.  Three great things...A beautiful woman, a mattress constructed from sheer ecstasy, and being relaxed after some dirty kinky fun (funny how i say that even with it's the more soft sensual sex stuff, ha)...

I got up on Friday earlier than planned because lil man came in the bedroom and was like, Tommy Tommy, Wanna see my bus...he was stoked so I couldn't refuse.  I had a bowl of Trix while I waited...had my retinas burned out when I opened the door to see him get on the bus...I got a kick out of the fact that he needed to poop two seconds before the bus got there.  He was quick and I got ass wiping duty while Jen waited at the door in case the bus got there before he was done....pants up and out the door just in time...I couldn't help but laugh.

Off I went to work on my paper.  I'm proud to announce that after 14 hours of work I completed my pseudo-masterpiece: The GLBT Workplace: Discrimination, Domestic Partnership Benefits, and Diversity Awareness on the Job was complete.  There were a few hours spent taking a break and stretching my ass which had become quite tired of sitting.  Saturday brought another 14 hour paper writing spree.  This time a business plan for my fake business called Different Strokes, Inc.--a Diversity Awareness Consulting Firm...
That one I'll be happy to get a C on...I'm burned out.  Jen did help me out a great deal when I couldn't figure something out in Excel to save my life and she comes over and is all like...oh just do it this way...wow, wish I would have just asked you like an hour ago so I wouldnt have spent so much time trying to figure shit out.

Sunday, was another three and half hours spent doing the rest of my homework that was due by midnight.  Then I weeded the flowerbed (a project I had hoped to complete a week earlier)--it was actually refreshing.  I borrowed some gloves from mom so I didnt have to worry so much about touching spiders directly...no snakes, THANK GOD, and only one gigantic spider (like the one that tried to eat me that day, Don't touch me) so, the mums are now planted.  Yay.

A trip to moms to find Mandi had drank half a bottle of Castor Oil in an attempt to induce labor...weird.  Grandma put me over the edge, but I was still polite.  I feel like i haven't had a single day off despite it being the weekend.  I just have to make it through this last week of Finals and I'm done...then I can sleep and sleep and sleep....dammit...i was going to go to bed early...i'm exhausted.  It's 11:30 already, still have to walk the dog and then get up at 5:30 FUCK ME.

Faux mom

So I've mentioned before that I agreed to help Jen out with lil man on Thursday nights since that is her late night at work... Tonight was the first night and well Jen might kill me.

Don't get me wrong, I did a fine job with lil man (as always if I do say so myself)--the lil guy loves me and I'm not going to lie, I really like being one of the two super heroes in his life.  I say it that way because lil man refers to us as MOMMY and TOMMY which just makes me smile and makes me think of Batman and Robin, or Spongebob and Patrick... a dynamic duo in our own right.

The reason Jen may kill me is because while she was out I decided to rearrange her bedroom to unblock the chi that was trapped in it.  Since I've known her the only thing she has moved was a single cabinet.  I can't help it...the way it was arranged always kind of irked the living shit out of me.  Before it didn't matter because we were too busy having sex for me to give a shit about feng shui... it still shouldn't matter because we still have lots of sex, just from the comforts of my place instead.... today it was an issue because well I just couldnt take it anymore.  My class meeting wasn't until 9 and lil man didn't have to be in bed until 8:30... I had an hour to kill and well I chose rearranging her furniture as a way to procrastinate even further on my paper.

The kicker is that now that I've rearranged her room I realized that subconsciously I was testing the waters.  Testing us.  We hit ten months, so yes...still fairly new compared to others, but dammit you have to start somewhere.  I am ridiculous when it comes to rearranging furniture...I move shit around like every two weeks...just for the hell of it or when things just feel chaotic in my life.... I guess that on some weird level I wanted to be able to see if she could handle that about me.  She knows that I do it to my own stuff....but with me having plans to eventually move in with her sexy ass when the time is right.... I have to know that she can handle me doing it to her shit as well, lol.  I need a hobby.

I didn't go through her stuff, just moved the big stuff and piled her personal stuff for her to go through on her own... maybe it will be okay...I'm anxious for her to get home so that I can see her reaction.  Hopefully she wont freak out.

I dunno, I've said it before...I have no desire to have my own kid, but I'm in love with a woman that has one and I love him too....I like being a faux mom... a second mommy... I can be there to help, I discipline when necessary, but really what it all boils down to is that I'm this chick that hangs out with his mom all the time and loves the two of them, can transform his transformers, most of the time on command, and LOVE legos... lol...I'm his pal.

I'm many things to many people...but to these two I feel pretty damn awesome and wicked special.

Photo fun day

I'm in the mood for sharing random photos... I love taking pictures in general...doesn't matter what of--EVER.

This picture was taken from mom's front yard.  I love clouds and the open sky and sunsets :)

A dragonfly on the edge of my flower bed.... the flower bed has a border around it because it used to be a smoke house... It's about twelve inches deep with a concrete base... (it looked prettier than a random square in the yard) If I ever get the mums planted I'll post pics of the flower bed now...

I took this pic on one of my Hatteras Island getaway trips... The sports setting came in handy for this shot.

Purple Irises are MY FAVORITE... this one was in mom's flower bed...right after a rainstorm...

Me and my dad... mom just got word that he's off to Germany this weekend... he's been in Indiana getting additional training since he left at the beginning of August... after Germany... Kosovo for a year, bleck.

My last trip to Nashville was in '07.... I was trashed in this picture-- my friends and I hit up a couple gay bars, and some other bars along the way... I wanna say our first stop was Broadway brew or something... i just know it was a long night with lots of drinking... I need to venture out that way sometime soon... (maybe if I get a tax refund I'll take Jen...she'd love it)

This picture is from last summer... hehe.  I'm always changing my look.  This one of my louder ones, haha.  After my sister's graduation from Radford we went and got matching tattoos... plus I had another one added that day as well...and got my monroe pierced too...I took out the piercing for my warehouse gig though... two tatts and a piercing in one day was a lil much I might add, haha...

Yet another random look.  (I'm in the mood for a haircut but am trying not to, that's why I'm sharing some of my previous random looks, lol...) I want something different.... for this look I glued tracks (extensions) in the front of my hair and razor cut them for a real "emo" look, haha

Jen and I in the very beginning.  Lol.  She looks so different.  That was in like month one... she had super long hair, thick Brooke Shield's brows, and crazy long nails... If I recall we were at my brother's house for a bonfire after she got off of work...look at how shy she looked...

A more recent photo...
That's all for today...I'm procrastinating.  I haven't started my papers yet and I have a meeting for school in a few minutes...I've gotta stop slacking...

Midterm Mayhem

And my boobs itch...I just finished both of the midterms that I had left. Yay. Downside, when I clicked the button to submit one of them I got an error message that said that there was an error in submitting my exam--WTF. I'm on hold now with technical support in hopes that my exam did actually get turned in and isn't just floating around in cyberspace somewhere.

I went thrift store shopping after work. I didn't find anything, but I found Jen two brand new dress shirts for work...a couple of brand new shirts for grandma, a couple of baby outfits for my soon to be here niece, a cut off type shirt for lil man that's red and says GAP in camo letters, lol...nothing for me.

Then off to the shoe store, I was thinking of splurging and finally getting those Sperry Topsiders I've been wanting but opted against it...they aren't great enough to justify that expense. I bought my sister a pair of adidas sandals because they are the only shoes her fat baby oven feet would fit into...she couldnt afford them right now so I treated her for now. I did find a pair of Nike sneaks for 22 bucks so that was exciting and its time to have new ones for work...the ones i"ve been wearing are too flat and kill my heel daily...

Then Mandi and I met up with Mom, Dad, Aunt Melissa and Uncle John for a birthday dinner for Dad...MEXICAN...yay...The highlight of my evening is when my mom had a brain fart and asked the server to sing happy birthday to Dad in Mexican...OMG...REALLY MOM...talk about unintentional racial slurs, lol. I learned a long time ago from working in warehouse to not assume anyone is mexican...I worked with Hispanics from all over--Guatemala, Mexico, etc etc but you don't call someone from Guatemala a mexican...they get pissed...but I digressed....I corrected mom and she was all like oh yeah...

Then off to walmart....Jeffrey's girlfriends daughter (Satan herself) has a birthday party tomorrow and if by some off chance I decided to be nice and take lil man to attend it, I needed to have a present for the ungrateful little brat...I spent all of five bucks on her...if she had manners and actually appreciated shit then I'd spend more...but for now it's pointless.

Finally home, laundry in...shower...checked on Grandma...she got to bed by herself tonight for the first time in a long time...and then midterms....only to get an error message

I got a ticket number from technical support...it turns out the professor (who's a cunt bag anyway) didnt mark the right box on forgot to do something on her end so the midterm I just did isn't set up to even be graded. So I emailed her and told her what was up, gave her the ticket number and told her to call tech support if she had questions...I'm not feeling good about this right now considering that it took me emailing her to let her know she hadnt even posted the midterm for us to do this week...WTF...she finally put it up on Wednesday...we are supposed to have a full week to complete it...but oh well.

Its almost three in the am...need to head to bed...Good night all.

The Ugly Truth

The alarm went off this morning at 9 am and it dawned on me that I didn't need to be up for anything at all. I had stayed up til after midnight screwing around--watching movies, relaxing on the couch and digesting the bangin' dinner mom made for my brother (steak, baked potato, and salad)...I had left work at about 12:45 Friday afternoon and didn't even turn on my computer until just a few minutes ago...It's funny how much "life" can happen when you just turn everything off and leave it off.

Side note: I watched Transporter 3 last night...not bad--I'm so not into dudes, but I'd dry hump the hell out of some Jason Statham, lol.

I turned the alarm off as I thought to myself, I'm such an idiot...I don't have to do shit today if I don't want to. Back to sleep I went. I woke up after twelve with Chino Kitty curled up next to me on his pillow and Pepper puppy's back to mine (they like it when I sleep in because they get to as well)...I text my sister to see what she was doing and we decided to go to a thrift store and then catch a movie.

I showered, fake shaved (shaving only up to the knee because beyond that were my cargo shorts and I'll be damned if I'm shaving if I don't have to, haha), opted for a sports bra to pin the girls down and keep them under control (in reality how unruly can a couple of Bs get...I just like to smoosh em from time to time, haha).....draw on my eyebrows which oddly didn't take as much effort to do because they have grown back in nicely, but i digress....

I grab Mandi and off we go. I found a pair of brand new Lane Bryant khakis and a Gap tshirt for me and managed to find Jen three pairs of practically brand new work pants as well....so a productive trip to say the least. We go to Red Robin for lunch--we walk in and Mandi takes a b line for the bathroom (the baby stretched out and was standing on her bladder apparently), the hostess walks up to me and says "Is your name Tommy?" Two things run through my head:

1. Am I wearing a work shirt or badge, how does she know who I am and
2. This girl is way too young for me to have slept with and pissed off...

Girl: Do you remember me
Me: You look familiar but No
Girl: I'm Taylor, you used to babysit me
Me: What, shut up
Girl: Yeah, me and my brother--Taylor and Brooklyn
Me: WHOA I feel really old right now
Girl: Chuckles and takes me to the table...

(Did I mention that this had to have been over 11 years ago and this girl still remembered me...) Kids used to love me when I babysat...but she was a youngin' then I can't believe she'd still remember me, not to mention that I apparently look exactly the same, haha.

Weird. Mandi and I go to Jen's theatre where our tickets are waiting in the box office with Ed. Ed is this funny dude...he's a "playa" in his mind and loves the fact that he's "on my good side" I always joke about how if things don't work out with Jen and I then he'll need to be ready (he totally knows that I'm not serious)....but I digress. We watched The Ugly Truth--GREAT MOVIE...Hilarious, really.

Home after a detour to Michael's (the craft store)--I had invited Jen and lil man over this evening (we are going to the zoo tomorrow) so I had some cleaning to do. I cleaned the bedroom and noticed it's about time to clean the comforter. It's a king size brown microsuede thing so it's too big for my washer here...there are remnants of DNA to say the least...eww. Dusted and vacuumed and set up Lil man's bed and onto the bathroom I went. I looked at the floor and noticed that there was gunk in the corners and cracks where I hadn't scrubbed hard core in a while. Like I clean but never too in depth apparently. On my hands and knees with a toothbrush I scrubbed all the ickiness away, mopped, scrubbed some more--you could eat off of anything in my bathroom right now it's so clean.

The living room was next....Jen got here...lil man went to sleep....two hot naked ladies in the shower...(we kept it clean, lol) laundry tossed in the wash...and in goes a movie. Tomorrow the zoo awaits (if the weather holds out). I've got to get up early in the am so that I can do my homework before everything else....yeah since I didn't turn on my computer at all until now...I'm a little behind schedule to say the least.

Procrastination station

So anyone who knows me knows that I am the world's worst procrastinator. This week as always it's in the homework department. I have paper to write (5 pages), a case analysis on Hewlett-Packard for Biznaz class (which will be several pages and include a SWOT analyis, IFE and EFE matrix among other really dumb business related components I'll probably never use directly), discussions, current event assignments and what not. Sure, doesn't seem like a lot but it kind of is. Especially since Finals start on Friday and Saturday. Three of the mother fuckers, two of which are essay and discussion form....eww.

So anyway--I need to get them done so that I have a longer break between now and my next set of classes that start on July 6th.

On a random happy note...the ten page paper I had due for POL 300 last week (that I did in part of a day) got me an A....can I get a hell yeah.

Good times. Maybe Jen will come over tonight...I can think of things to help me procrastinate on homework that she could certainly be a part of....but I won't get into that right now "wink, wink"
